it’s 2019 and people still think bi and pan are somehow separate because of those arbitrary ‘rules’ they made up to distinguish them from one another

there is no way to separate them from one another that actually makes sense or that is applicable to every bi or pan person. you can be bi and be attracted to all genders. you can be bi and feel attraction regardless of gender. you can be bi and have a preference or not at all. you can be pan and have a preference. you can be bi or pan and not give a shit about gender.

everything boils down to “I like this label so that’s what I am” nowadays. you can’t claim you’re ‘distinct’ if you’re pan, because every experience you claim is unique to pan people is already a bisexual experience. and that’s on that.

also if you build your entire sexuality around the concept that you’re “not bisexual”, I’m sorry to tell you that you’re just incredibly biphobic and nothing about your ‘identity’ is valid at all.
